June 2026 Newsletter
Dear Parents,
Welcome to June: longer days and summer vacation! Summer is just around the corner but your children are still engaged in learning, socializing, and maturing. Our three- and four-year-old students are working diligently on their “moving up” ceremony. The Rising Stars are definitely getting ready for kindergarten as they are reading and writing simple words. Our Little Stars can tell you all about trees and will start working on a new unit of study, water. The two-year-old classes will also be starting a new learning unit: containers.
June is a time of mixed emotions here at the Stars Academy. I am sad to say good-bye to the students and families that will not be returning in September but am excited for their amazing journey ahead! Please know that each of your families will hold a special place in my heart. Please keep in touch and continue to be our ambassadors for Stars Academy. I am excited that so many of our families will be continuing their journey at Stars Academy for the 2026-2027 school year and look forward to watching your children continue to grow and learn.
Spring and summer are upon us, which means we will be seeing more of Mr. Sunshine and the warm weather! Spending time outside every day is a priority, so please dress your child in weather appropriate attire and apply sunscreen before coming to school each morning. The staff will be reapplying sunscreen if we go outside for an extended period of time. In addition, children must wear closed-toed shoes every day at school, open sandals are not allowed. If your child is wearing Crocs, a back ankle strap is a must.
Summer is a time to relax, go on vacation and spend time outdoors. However, it also provides great opportunities for shared reading experiences with your child. As you begin planning picnics, beach trips, barbecues and trips, don’t forget to bring a book or two along! Nursery rhymes are a great choice for summer reading. They have stood the test of time for their ability to naturally teach children language, rhyme and rhythm. They develop imagination and critical thinking skills, while also instilling important morals and lessons.
Highlights for the month of June include:
June 1 – Liturgy – Day of the Holy Spirit
June 3 – Summer birthdays class celebrations.
June 4-7 – Holy Cross Greek Festival
